Importing sql.gz file using Linux/Ubuntu

# syntax using zcat command
zcat /path/to/file.sql.gz | mysql -u <mysql-user> -p <mysql-database>

# syntax using gunzip command
gunzip < /path/to/file.sql.gz | mysql -u <mysql-user> -p <mysql-database>

# syntax using gunzip command using -c, --stdout, --to-stdout option
